Private Section & Front-line Explained

Private/Special Section is a Carnival section in a major band, it is not a direct part of the band direct camp, but usually a separate group of persons/or person wishing to showcase in a particular band of choice. Most likely it is an all inclusive section where you pay one price and get your carnival costume, specially catered food and drinks. Packages may vary with free give-aways, the type of food and services offered.

The front-line is a costume in any section which may generally have a back pack, larger head-piece and or more adornments or parts and costs more than a 'regular' option, it may also be accompanied by additional freebies. The masquerader is generally entitled to what the special section is offering, in addition to what drinks, food and services the band is offering, but this varies from band to band.

JdC's presentationfor Notting Hill Carnival 2008, has officially been launched and we are open 24hrs / 7 days a week for registration via this site.

Our professional & full photos will be placed on the site within the following 2 weeks.

However, for your viewing and to assist in selection, we have placed temporary snapshots of the costumes on offer. BACK LINE, FRONTLINE & MEN'S.

Crème du Soiree, the portrayal, is a bringing together of 'the best of the night' in performances which can be seen in Las Vegas, the water shows, theatrical performances and discos, a culmination.

The illusion will be brought to life by the masquerader, parading in the costume as the beading and appliquéd stone workings reflect the sun, and each movement made enhanced by the swoosh and sway of beads, mimicking the various activities in a Caribbean fashion as they gyrate and jump through the streets for Notting Hill Carnival 2008, the sounds of scintillating and driving Soca music in the air, leaving the onlooker in awe wondering state at the acrobatic feats of the waistline.

Turquoise blue sets the imagery of water, where silver beading and appliqué imply the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas night life and the costumed performers going through their routines......Making the masquerader indeed Crème du Soiree....

It's getting closer and closer to the big jump up day and JdC has officially been launched.

We wish to thank everyone that turned out to our launch on 5th June 2008 at ACE Fusion restaurant.

Those who came had an enjoyable time & it was really good to have other band leaders present and supporting, special mention Pauline Abraham of Burrokeets.

Additionally, folks were able to enjoy samples of the food we will be providing on the road.

We need to extend our sincere gratitude to a few people...

Digga D for providing us with the right vibe.......everyone wants a copy of your Back In Times Soca...

Our models for the evening, Anita, Sophia and Derion..you guys really worked the costumes...and the rest of our crew assisting Suszannah, Matthew, Carol our MC for the evening.

To the media- Darryl Osbourne our photographer, Trinis in London, TJJ, London Underground News thank you for attending.

Of course, the Miss T&T UK 2007 representative-Sarah Mahabir along with committee members.

A big thank you to the staff & owners of ACE FUSION Restaurant. The food & service was fantastic.

Come and enjoy a great atmosphere, tasty refreshments at a Caribbean/African influenced restaurant and of course view the costumes.....

Another chance for Carnival supporters to mingle and have a good time.

Buses from CLAPHAM JUNCTION : 37, 87, 156, 170 or 337 stop off at Brussels Road.

87 Bus from Central London stop off at Brussels Road.

Short walk (2 mins) from Brussels Road to ACE Fusion Restaurant.

Guidelines when paying..

Dear masquerader

You are required to select your appropriate sizing option from the choices given in the PAY PAL menu.

PLEASE SELECT CAREFULLY.

Persons who have not seen their sizing in the drop down menus are advise to select 'other' as your sizing option.

Upon paying, you will be given the option to provide further sizing details.

ALL customers are required to provide the following at that point:
1. Your exact bra size
2. Your choice of bottom piece (thong/hot pants/boy shorts/ regular bikini bottom)
3. Your exact waist & hip size

There is no need to have a Pay Pal account.

Payments from debit or credit cards will be accepted.

Please find the easy payment button to the right of the site.

Select your costume option and click to pay.

Payments at this time are deposits to secure your choice of costume, inclusive of the Pay Pal service transaction fee.

You will receive an individual receipt & invoice for your payment and outstanding balance via email.

DEADLINE for FULL PAYMENT is: Midnight Sunday 10th August 2008
Costumes must be paid for in full by this date.
